“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  This is what the ancients were commended for.”  Hebrews 11:1-2

One of the threads throughout all of Scripture is that God uses flawed, everyday, ordinary people to do extraordinary things when we (through faith) commit fully to Him.  At Second Baytown over the next few weeks, we are going to spend time looking at some of those regular, ordinary people in the Bible that had tremendous faith in God.  That extraordinary faith is why the writer of the Book Hebrews placed several Old Testament heroes in the 11th chapter of that book commonly known as the “Hall of Fame of Faith.”

Here’s a sample of the “Hall of Fame” stories we will be studying…

Abram (later known as Abraham) made the hall because he simply followed God…even they he had no idea where he was being led…

That’s called faith…

Moses (after an incredible moment with a burning bush) stood up to everything that he’d ever known, changed the direction of his life…and was used in an unbelievable way by God to deliver the children of Israel from slavery…

That’s called faith…

And don’t forget Joseph (yes the one with the “coat of many colors”) who was placed in prison for well over a decade for a crime he did not commit…but he chose to simply trust God…and leave the consequences to HIm…

That’s called faith…

So, why not step out and dig in to God’s Word over the next few weeks and see what God is challenging you to do…That’s called faith.
