You would pretty much have to be living under a rock if you were not aware that it’s election season. All the major news networks are talking about it. E-mails encouraging people to vote for certain candidates are being sent. Flyers are being sent via mail, and phone calls are being made and the list could go on and on.

So, what’s all the hub-bub about? Well, it’s that time in our election cycle when the outcome of this particular election will decide who makes vital decisions about the future of our country. Major propositions will be voted in or out, and in local elections decisions about our community will be made.

What’s a Christian supposed to do with all of this? To put it simply... VOTE!   That’s right, vote. If we believe that this country was founded on Christian beliefs and values then Christians ought to take this very privilege that has been afforded us and vote.

To be clear, it’s not my place to tell you who or what to specifically vote for, but I do believe it’s extremely important that Christians vote. And when you do vote you ought to consider voting according to your Christian beliefs and values. Many Christians often don’t consider their Biblical values when voting, frequently choosing candidates whose positions are polar opposite with their own beliefs, convictions, and values. Some Christians even vote for candidates that favor things that the Bible specifically speaks against.

So, yes, your one vote counts! Let me encourage you to get out a vote. And I know that you will join me in not only voting this year, but also consistently praying for ALL of our elected officials.
