Inreach Ministries

Information Booth (CommUNITY Center)
Volunteers are needed to work in the “CommUNITY Center” before and after each worship service. Participants will be trained to answer questions asked by attenders and members and provide information to help everyone feel “connected” at Second.

Volunteer Office Assistance
Ministry participants help the church secretarial staff with ministry needs on an “as-needed” basis with skills such as technology assistance, phone contacts, folding newsletters and other correspondence.

Deaf Interpretation
Deaf Interpretation Ministry occurs during our worship services. This ministry opportunity is available only to those who have received specialized training in deaf interpretation.

Ushers/Greeters
Ushers and Greeters use their spiritual gifts to “meet and greet” members, regular attendees and visitors alike as they come to Second. This ministry requires that you have a heart for people and are willing to smile and shake hands.

Refreshment Ministry
The primary focus of this ministry is to serve refreshments and warmly greet worshipers between services each weekend. A variety of refreshments are served. Ministry participants are involved in this ministry on a rotating basis.

Drama/Skit Ministry
Participants in the drama/skit ministry will be involved in preparing and acting in short drama and skit presentations in the worship service or in Bible Study Classes. Participants may choose to be involved directly in acting or work “behind the scenes” in such areas as prop development, scenery and costume design.

Cooking Teams
Cooking Teams are utilized for church wide or community based fellowships. Ministry participants will be involved in cooking and preparing meals for events such as: Breakfast, Youth Fellowships, Block Parties, Journey to the Promise Land (Halloween Alternative), Hot-Dog Cook-Offs and other events.

Bible Study Office Assistance
Ministry participants will assist the staff in record-keeping, photocopying, literature distributions and organizational skills during one of our three Bible Study Sessions.

Money Counters
Participants involved in the money counting ministry will assist the church financial secretary in counting funds collected each weekend.

Baptism Assistance
Baptism Assistance is needed to help both those being baptized and the pastors. Participants will be involved in this ministry on a rotating basis.
