What a wonderful week at Summer Bash (VBS)!  It is so amazing to see how our church family steps up to reach our community when the challenge is before them.  We had the largest Summer Bash since I have been leading the children's ministry at Second.  This year, my prayer was that God would send us kids that are not connected to a church.  And God blessed us with new families and kids coming and seeing what we are all about.  (which should be our prayer every week)  New little faces that we encouraged in God's Word each day now have a little piece of what God's love is all about.  A big "THANK YOU" goes to my adult volunteers (over 70 of you - WOW!), youth volunteers (50 of the best youth kids around), praise team and band, tech team, office staff, nursery workers, hospitality team, and moms & dads that brought their kids each week.  This was the best group of volunteers that worked so well together and stepped up to the challenge.  Thank you for all of the love gifts from Bible study classes and small groups.  The volunteers loved having a hospitality room!  Thank you church for your prayers, $ support, and cookies.  Once again, you overwhelmed me with our cookie drive and we had more than enough.  My heart is full as I come to the close of this week.  Seeing boys and girls sing about God's love, leading a child to Christ this week, hearing kids quote Scripture that they memorized and volunteers saying they love working VBS, and witnessing kids getting excited for God is the best!  This is what it is all about for me, but it doesn't stop with Summer Bash.  This is my prayer and challenge each Sunday.  (If you would like to make an impact in a child's life by volunteering through Kidventure, please come see me.)  Please be in constant prayer for those kids who heard the gospel this week and God is tugging at their heart.  We planted a seed and now we need to nurture it.
