A School Prayer

Lord, I entrust my child to you as he goes to school.  May he sense Your presence throughout the day. Help him to focus and concentrate and enjoy learning.  Protect him from harm and keep his feet on Your path.  Grant him good friends and the ability to be a friend to those who are lonely.  May he be a light to classmates who do not know Jesus.  I pray for his teacher.  Grant her wisdom, understanding and love for each child.  May Your blessing rest upon my child, the teacher, all the students, and the school.

In Jesus' name, Amen.

This prayer was given to me when my daughter went to kindergarten several years back.  I love to pull it out at the beginning of each school year and use it often throughout the year.  My encouragement to you is to pray over your child(ren) and grandchild(ren).   As parents, our job is to protect and pray for them.

If you would like other prayers to pray over your children, the book "The power of blessing your children" is a great tool. (I also have this school prayer printed if you would like to pick up a copy in Kidventure this Sunday.)
